Potsdam

Palaces and gardens are not the only sights that the city of Potsdam has to offer. There are also the historical quarters such as the Russian colony Alexanrowka, the Dutch quarter and the weaving quarter. Impressive sights are also the Cecilienhof Palace and the Belvedere on the Whitsun mountain with the wonderful view across the Mark arcadia.
The most prominent sight of the city is the Sanssouci Palace- and its surrounding park.

The palace- a main piece of German Rococo architecture- served as a summer residence for Frederick the Great. On display are masterpieces by Watteau, Panini and Pesne.
