Rüdersdorf

Museum Park

Berlin is held together by Rüdersdorf lime, whether the Brandenburg Gate or the Mietshäuser in Prenzlauer Berg- all of these buildings are built with it. The Museum park tells the long history of lime brick mining, lime production and the building material industry.

From the two thousand years of history there is a Germanic lime furnace and its 2000 years younger brother- one of the most modern cement furnaces in the world. The lime furnace, the Rumford furnace and the top loader kiln all belong to the list of World Heritage Sites.

Go on a discovery tour through the open pits, book a historic or geological tour or take a Landrover safari along part of the abandoned open pit section.

Advance reservation required.
