Old Fishing

Village- Rahnsdorf

Around the Müggelsee there is also the former fishing village Rahnsdorf, which lies between the Köpenick districts of Friedrichshagen and Erkner and is a beautiful location.

The church stands on the highest ground of the Dorfstraße ( Village Street). Already in 1487 Rahnsdorf was a fishing community, therefore you can see a Zander embossed onto the church weather vane.

Every weekend from 10.00 until 18.00 on the Church Meadow in Kruggasse, fischmonger Thamm offers fresh smoked eel, trout, carp and other sea fish.

Direct by the fishmonger you will find the landing stage of the smallest ferry in Berlin. The ferry man paddles you across this 36m wide section of the Müggelspree to the opposite Spree meadow. You can take your bikes with you. From here you can make your way back to the hotel or start the route around the Müggel Lake.

From the same spot there is also a motor ferry from and to Müggelhort and Müggelwerderweg.

You can travel with up to 28 people- even on the hand driven ferry, every 60 minutes (except Mondays).
